Healthy Relationships Support Group
No relationship is perfect. A long-term relationship requires constant effort to understand each other, fix misunderstandings, solve problems and continue to grow as both individuals change and evolve. How we deal with our misunderstandings is the focus of this community. Join us to find support, get advice, and share your experience with your relationship.
Anyway perhaps you should consider checking out what is available in your community on what just your income is. It would give you the chance to get into something rather then live in a hotel and save up for something better. As for your dog there are places that will allow them for an extra deposit. You also could see about boarding the dog or check with friends and family to see if they can keep him until you get back on your feet.
In all aspects I know it isn't easy but the only one stopping you from leaving and changing is you. And that will take some hard work on your part to check out all other resources available in your community. If you choose to stay with your b/f and try and work things out I will just say make sure he is willing to do so and proves his actions to you, otherwise you will continue to stay in the same spot or worse end up on the streets.
Anyway I hope this helps a bit and like I said I do not know all your circumstances here I can only say if you want a better life you have to rock the boat a bit. Wishing you the very best.
I think it would give you a chance to spend time with animals as well as making some new friends that have something in common with you. It just might help you heal a bit as I always find doing something I enjoy and being around people who share something in common with me certainly makes life a whole light brighter even in dark times. And heck who knows your b/f probably is only saying he wants to keep the dog out of spite so if you tell him fine keep the dog and he sees it has no affect on you he probably will give the dog to you. But first you want to get yourself better and back in control of your life. So stay strong kiddo and don't give up on having a much better future:)
I hope you find a way out of it soon
I know you love that dog, but you're better off away from him and the whole situation. He has already tried that fix-up cars business, and it failed miserably every time. The very definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result.
Find yourself a more sensible boyfriend who is willing to get a job and work for someone else like every other poor schmuck has to do when visions/delusions of grandeur in the form of a business don't go their way.
The title of your post says it all. This is a bad relationship that you need to get out of and I think you know it. Like others here, I understand your attachment to the dog but you absolutely cannot let that influence a decision to stay in the relationship. Staying is easy, leaving is hard and will require work on your part to make the separation emotionally and move on with your life. But it will be the best thing you ever did.
Hugs to you. Keep us posted.
I urge you to leave if you're unhappy. Life is too short to be miserable. You deserve a life of happiness with somebody who loves you and treats you well!!
