I think you just have to be yourself. If you try to be something or someone else just to impress someone it usually backfires not to mention it will leave you feeling exhausted as well. Speaking only for myself I find that if someone approaches me and treats me kindly, respects me and is friendly and most important is genuine I would be interested in getting to know them better.

Share your interests and find out what interests the other person has is usually a good way to find out if the relationship can go a bit further. Pick up lines were always a huge turn-off to me. When a guy would use some line on me, he was done in my book before he even got started.

Don't talk about your "divorced" status! It casts a stink of death on any future encounter! And she'll feel, unfairly, compared to your ex-wife.

Be honest ... If a man finds me attractive, I enjoy a compliment. But don't overdo it. Something simple and to the point. Beyond that, I prefer a man take the time to get to know me and have some genuine interest in who I am. That's when you find out what sort of compatibility there may be.

And I ditto on laying off on the divorced status. It'll come up when it's important. I don't care to know the details right off the bat.
