While I long for a long-term partner, I find it hard to even find casual dates as it takes a lot for me to comfortable with physical comfort. It doesn't help that my dating pool is 10x smaller due to being a lesbian. I'm 22 and everyone my age seems to be settling down or at least working towards a long turn relationship, but these anxieties with physical affection makes it difficult. I only like hugging 3 people in my life, my mom and twin siblings. I see a therapist, but sometimes I feel like I don't belong. I was wondering if anyone has struggled with this or has any tips to help either overcome it or make girls understand or find like-minded people. I'm at a loss and just feel like I'll never be able to have a meaningful connection.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

I think at 22, most people are still finding themselves. I can't say when I was at that age that me or my friends were settling down. So I would just not put pressure on yourself to have it all worked out yet.
Are you working or going to school, have interests, etc.? This doesn't solve for the anxiety with physical affection but these things help to build confidence and meet different people.
What type of therapy are you in if you don't mind my asking?.... If it were me I would work on the therapeutic side for a while and not worry about dating
This has to come from somewhere and perhaps finding out what is going on and getting some help to deal with it might make a big difference
I understand wanting to find a partner however right now it may be a lot more stress on you perhaps finding some answers and coping skills may be more helpful for you.....
We have a good Anxiety Board on the site
Gentle hug.......xo
