Feeling exhausted and depressed!
However, I tracked my Walking at work and it appears that I walk an equivalent of 5 miles per day
Not all people who are comfortable in a relationship give up on exercise and staying in shape though, I never did.
I didn't stay physically active to attract a partner (or to keep a partner), I always did it for me, my own physical and emotional well-being and I've been active as far back as I can remember. Both my parents were always very active and it's how I was brought up. Staying active comes as natural to me as breathing does.
When I broke my leg a few years ago and couldn't do much of anything for 8 weeks, it was hell for me.
My mom who just turned 87 walked 3 miles every day around the park with her dog (weather permitting) and she went to the gym 3 times a week until she got sick (cancer) last August and could no longer do it.
I have always been very active too.
I do Cross Fit 4 times a week and now that the weather is getting nicer I am roller blading and biking.
My Bf is getting a bike so we can ride together this summer!
Yay!!!
Healthy-active is something that sometimes I find hard to balance, when I was younger I suffered eating dissorders and used to work out 4 hours with no more fuel that one small meal every day, so I have to be careful so I dont go back to unhealthy-obsessed-active.
But I find it hard to even find friends who'll join me for just a walk at the park at night so just me and the fur baby, we don't mind though.
Just stay active anyway you can.
I am also having the toughest time finding a man my age who can keep up with me energy wise. It seems like so many men who reach their mid to late 50s start to become old in their minds, or else maybe they are not so good at eating healthily, and so they genuinely do not have the energy.
I walk on average about 12 to 14 miles during each week spread over Monday to Friday, and love to spend large chunks of my weekends outdoors doing something physical like hiking or kayaking.
I try to eat a really healthy diet and it pays huge dividends energy wise. I just don't understand why more people don't see the benefit of it, because they love complaining about how little energy they have, or how many aches and pains they have, but don't try to help themselves.
I just modified my diet to greatly reduce carbs in lieu of protein. The gut is shrinking and the energy is improving!
