My first revelation was just a gut feeling that something was off. Then I started noticing he was not available. This was a man who insisted that we do everything together and then suddenly he was a ghost!

I started checked his cell phone after he went to bed. This was quite illuminating.

Yup. Number One is Gut Feeling...

Besides the obvious -
I only know signs of men cheating. Women, however , when they start a new sexual relationship are generally extremely uplifted emotionally , they start dressing and looking better, and get that spark back in their eyes out of the blue.

There were no real signs that my EX was cheating. And to be perfectly honest there are indications that she cheated throughout the marriage.

No, I take that back. There was a warning sign. A predisposition on her part to assume I was cheating when I lost interest in her...etc... and to jump to strange and nonsensical conclusions that I was cheating on her during the marriage. For the record, not only did I never cheat, I never had the inclination.

But in my post separation counseling the therapist told me that it had been a sign, that my EX was projecting her own issues and her own desire to cheat on me.... which makes perfect sense in retrospect.

Try to remember, being cheated on is more of a reflection on the CHEATER than on you.

I've only ever been cheated on 1 time that I know of (I'm sure there may have been more.. I just never found out before the relationship ended). It started with an emotional distance. He was with me, but not really WITH me. I could tell his mind was else where. The classic signs soon followed.. calls where the phone would ring twice and then hang up, elaborate stories to cover his tracks, yada, yada. I left soon after. No one deserves that.
