Oral cancer or oral cavity cancer, a subtype of head and neck cancer, is any cancerous tissue growth located in the oral cavity. It may arise as a primary lesion originating in any of the oral tissues, by metastasis from a distant site of origin, or by extension from a neighboring anatomic structure, such as the nasal cavity or the maxillary sinus.

I have been on this site before but in another support group and really enjoyed the help and friendship I have made,but hate losing so many of them to HCV. Just found out this month from the doctor at the VA, I have cancer. My big problem is my Lymph nodes shows cancer but they can't find the tumor. Some of the doctor want to start me on radiation and chemo. But how can they pin point the right spot and not just a general area and kill good cell.( That scared me!) Other want to take the lymph nodes out on the right side of my neck and bring me in every two months to retest. Has anyone experience this problem or have any suggestions.

Yes but to a different degree. In early 2012 I found a lump on the front /side of my neck. It was DZ as nonhodgkin lymphoma. A 3.5 hr surgery to remove the infected nodes but no tumor. It turned out to be non cancerous so no need for rad. and chemo. Then in the fall of 2013 I was DZ'ed with advanced Esophageal cancer and infected lymph nodes and a diseased node pressing against the trechea.
So they started me on chemo and radiation, to be followed up with surgery. All of this should have been caught in 2012. However we are only human. Good Luck and may the force be with ya.

Thanks you for your reply as I guess we have some on this site. Last week they may of found the tumor on the other side of the back of my tomb so back to op for another sample for testing. Funny, I hope its is so I can start radiation and pin point the area. Again thanks

    My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
