I'm scheduled for a scan and uptake on April 14 and 15, and my endo has me on 20 mg of methimazole in anticipation of the fact that I have to be off of it completely starting March 31. I was feeling fine, but recently I developed a sore throat and this morning I looked in the mirror, and there were SPOTS on my tonsils. I've never had that happen before, and I've never had strep or tonsillitis. I'm worried about my white blood cell count now, and I don't know if I should go to Immediate Care. I also don't know if it's because I'm going to be on my period...too much info? I should call my endo about this but she's out of the office on Thursdays. Any takers?
I see that you had an RAI done. Did you go for a second treatment?
Get labs and find out about the WBC and go from there.
There's a lady here MaryPoppins who is going for her TT (next week, I think) because her RAI didn't work for her.
Make sure to test your TSI for awhile as this goes up after an RAI and even after a TT (for some).

Don't worry it sounds like you have an infection. They may say it's tonsillitis or septic tonsils. I had it all the time as a child,(every other week, needless to say i had my tonsils out.)Go to your doctors and get some antibiotics. Still get your bloods checked full blood count to make sure it hasn't affected your white blood cells.
