I'm a little nervous, more about the anesthesia than the actual surgery!

Ahh you'll do great! I've been put under a few times. When I was a little nervous my friend told me, think of it as if you were taking a much needed long uninterrupted nap. I had/have 6 kids, one just over 1yr old, so that was what i needed to hear to ward off the nerves. Sleep was a treaure back in the day when i was getting little, lol!

I was nervous about the anesthesia too, but when I told the anesthesiologist my fears, she told me how she was going to take good care of me. She didn't lie:) one tip, don't let them ash your neck with iodine, get the iodine free scrub...just to be extra safe. You wil do great! Prayers and positive thoughts for you!

Goof luck and do not worry! I just had mine yesterday and the only thing I can really warn you about is the sore throat afterwards.. I'm pretty sure that is from the breathing tube after surgery. I got out of surgery at around 12:30 pm and was out of it for a few hours..but walking around after 6pm and felt oddly better! Almost like my heart and body were a little more calm than normal. *big hugs*

Good luck.

I saw a good tip: when you take your pain meds after use a straw to drink the water and swallow so you don;t have to tilt your head back.

I'm in the pre op room right now! Just got my iv -blew out one now its in my yes hand. Hopefully this is the worst part ;) I can dream right? Nervous!
