I drink some coffee, but drink it as half decaf and half regular. I use small half and half and wee organic cane sugar. I keep my coffee at one cup in the AM and one cup in the PM which equals to one cup decaf and one cup regular.
I do not drink any teas because of the Fluoride in them which are not good for both hypERs and hypOs alike.
Do you put anything in your coffee which could make you bouncy and hypER?

I will try organic coffee and see if that helps, thank you so much!

Personally, what works for me when hypo (but also hyper or generally not feeling well) is to slow down my general pace, tackle small tasks at the time/break big tasks down and totally forgo on major projects. In my experience it works to not take naps but allow my self the slower overall pace and go out for walks or something. It works in a few ways: Besides that you still get things done, you also keep your mood elevated because you still feel accomplished. You also admit to not feeling up to par but not giving in to it altogether which for me gives a feeling of control, in a positive way. It helps with feeling accomplished as a person. Also when feeling crappy, more than ever I try to eat smaller portions and am even extra aware to eat wholesome foods: No quick glucose level risers/crashers.
Do not want to sound like Oprah or Dr Phil here, but how I experience my energy is not totally but still somewhat based on my mind set. Hope it helps you.

I had pretty much said goodbye to caffeine for the past 3 years.....I never drank a lot to begin with so it was easy to give it up. Since becoming hypo I thought I would revisit caffeine, for some odd reason I cannot tolerate it at all. I was pretty desperate for any kind of energy so I tried a few times to drink just a half cup and each time I got pretty sick.
I know that it's almost over! I am almost off PTU and maybe when I get off it I will feel normal again (crossing my fingers). I just feel like lately I have "hit the wall"......I will try to eat healthier foods and see if that helps.
Thank you so much for your advice Nathalie, what you say makes so much sense!! :=)
Just anxious to get off my medicine!
I am a major coffee fan...I drink lots of it during the day. When I was hyper I had to give caffeine up totally. Since I love the taste of coffee I switched to decaffeinated organic beans...fresh ground tastes so much better than cans of store bought pre ground coffee. This helped me get through the no caffeine part. I went through withdrawals though. Now that I'm in remission I buy the darkest roasted coffee I can find. Apparently there is less caffeine in dark roasted coffee than medium or light. It gives that full rich coffee flavor without all the gitters of caffeine. Gee..that almost sounds like a commercial dosnt it? Big Hugs..Kathy
Now I'm going to have to try to beans! I do drink decaf but have never tried to buy beans (let alone organic) It makes sense it would taste better. I buy organic fruit and the difference is like night and day. Maybe when I am not hypo or hyper caffeine will again agree with me!
((Hugs)) to you too and thanks!!! :)
