Elaine had an RAI about 25+ years ago and used to be a medical technologist working at a hospital lab. She now devotes her time to helping people with thyroid issues and other autoimmune diseases as well.
She does not help out here. We direct anyone to her site.

Today's labs:
TSH 11.8 ( two weeks after 9.2 TSH and modification to meds- went from 10 mg MM twice a day to one a day. This is obviously why I still feel crappy)
It would be a great idea to get your doctor to order the thyroid labs of the Free T3 and the Free T4 to go along with the TSH you get.
Right now your TSH shows you to be very, very hypO. Please the get the Free Ts done so we can see how low these are and offer to you additional help/suggestions for the next steps to take.

My thyroxine was also tested: Reference Range: 0.8-1.8 Elevated values are seen in patients on thyroxine therapy. Currently 0.7...

T3 111 ( 80 - 190 )
TRAb 5.46 ( 0.00 - 1.75 )
Nov 14, 2012
TSH 9.2 (0.3-5.0 )
FT4 0.7 ( 0.8 - 1.80 )
T3 92 ( 80 - 190 )
TRAb 3.29 ( 0.00 - 1.75 )
If your doctor has you to stop taking the 10 mg for a few days and then you are going to restart Monday on 5 mg sounds reasonable.
Now I would suggest to you to divide the dosage of the 5 mg of MMI to twice a day of 2.5 mg each. What happens is that as you are whittling down your MMI dosages smaller and smaller, your thyroid would be happy going twice a day every 12 hours. If the MMI dosages is taken all at once, it leaves the person feeling very hypO the first 12 hours followed by too hypER the last 12 hours.
I learned the hard way from the once a day dosing and yo yoing all over the place. I had then went twice a day to three times a day and did better with three times a day dosing of every 8 hours.

You will want to aim the Free T4 to mid range, at least, to see how you do it there.
Ask your doctor to order the Free T3 and not the TT3. The reason is the Free is not affected by diet, hormones, environment, age, etc.

Then started back up on 1.25mg for 2 days now doing 2.5mg a day disolving the 2.5mg in water and dividing that into twice a day
Another helpful hint from joining the group I would have never thought how bad and hard it would be to find a good Dr to treat this I swear they want is in the hospital or something..
took a entire week for my Endo to call and then she said stay on the 5 mg dose CRAZY what's next a coma
I would like them to know how this feels can't get through a day with out falling over passing out no choice but to just lay down walk around like a zombie
Well thank goodness we have help here what shape would we be in if not...
Finally got through to my regular doctor- starting my 5 mg MM per day tomorrow morning. I will be retested on Dec. 24th. I will also be requesting a free F3- as you guys have advised. I'm seeing quite clearly now much much we cannot be a spectator in this graves disease with our doctors- we've got to be advocating for ourselves, educating ourselves, and being vocal about our disease. You guys have already taught me so much. Also, thanks for letting me know about Elaine- she has helped me as well. I'm going to continue to find a better doctor- one that is truly willing to listen to me... Again ladies, thank you...
