I need advice ladies. I have been diagnosed with Graves for 2 years almost now. I have been reducing my dose of Methimazone over this time. Its been an up and down battle as you all know so well. My endo is smart but I feel like I have been pulling her along, fortunately she reluctantly agrees when I want to reduce the amount of mmz.
Now I have been on 2.5mg since last april. There were a couple months that she had me take an extra 2.5 two days a week then one day a week.
Should I reduce the amount now? to what? and is it ok to stay on 2.5mg for long? how long?
Here are my last 7 labs in this order:
Free T4 (0.8-1.5)
Free T3 (2.2-4.0)
TSH (.35-5.0)
3/13/13 1.0 2.8 0.490 Dose reduced 7.5 to 5.0mg
4/17/13 1.0 3.0 0.524 dose reduced to 2.5
5/21/13 1.3 4.7 0.022 keep 2.5, with 5.0 sat/sun
8/12/13 1.4 4.7 0.015 arthritis worse so went to 2.5, 5.0 Sun
9/25/13 1.1 3.6 0.027 2.5 every day
11/20/13 1.2 4.0 0.018 2.5 every day
1/27/14 1.1 3.5 0.044 what shall I do??
She also did an hepatic panel. All is normal there.
She started me on daily Selenium after the September appt because my eyes were so dry and bothering me. I then read that Selenium can increase hyper so I now take it every other day. Any thoughts on that?

I've been drinking Reggies Roast organic coffee for awhile now (ever since I read that coffee is yet another item with high pesticide loads)..
The 5lb bags of whole bean coffee seem to be the most reasonably priced. Grinding the fresh beans results in quite the tasty cup of coffee and only takes seconds.
Thanks, checking out this option! My friend, who comes over twice a week to help me with cleaning my house, said that she would help to grind up the coffee beans.
