I believe Graves usually lowers total cholesterol

Your labs are very hypo and, unfortunately, this can cause elevated cholesterol amongst many other issues.

Hopefully, your levels will start to go up and everything will even out.

My levels weren't as hypo as yours when I went off meds but, I was suffering with a lot of hypo symptoms so, my levels were hypo for me.

Just keep getting labs every 6-8 wks. to stay on top of things - sooner if symptoms worsen (either way)

Yes, your FT3 is probably too low, that might cause the hair fallout. The higher cholesterol is from being too hypo too. What dose were you on and for how long?

I was on 5mg a day when she had me stop taking it

I just got my Thyroid test back along with my kidney test and it read TSH 6.83. According the graft when I took it last it seems to be sky high. the kidney one came out >60 which when I researched it was stage II kidney disease. Can someome explain to me what these numbers mean? I nod off at business meetings and while I am driving. I have so many health issues I don't know what's going on.

Hi Ann...Your mid range for your FT4 is 1.1 Your mid range for your FT3 is 4.6 As you can see...as Carol and brans has pointed out...you are hypo. I am especially concerned with your FT3...its much to low. If you can...since its only been 4 weeks since you've been off meds...wait one more month. Things can change in that time. If you still feel bad in 2 weeks ask for a early test...if your labs are still low you may want to look into hormone replacement. It's known that 20% of people who go into remission swing hypo for a period of time...mine lasted a year. I believe Carol is now hypo too. After being hypo and on replacement hormones my thyroid started to work on its own and has been for over a year now. Hang in there...slow and steady wins the Graves race...Big Hugs...Kathy

Make sure doctor orders the thyroid tests of the Free T3 and the Free T4. Doing the TSH only is just part of the picture. We need the Free Ts done. Then post the Free Ts results with the ranges so we know how low these are for you to have the high Free Ts.
