Hi Everyone...its been some time since I last contributed to the message board. I have been on Methimazole since February and my levels have normalized. I was initially diagnosed with Graves, but since then, my endo said its sub acute hyperthyroidism. I go for routine check-ups with the endo, and he says it looks like I am on the right path. I started out on a dosage of 10mg per day in Feb, 5 mg a day in late March and when I saw my endo toward the end of May he said my levels were a little hypo so i should cut down to 5 mgs every other day (of course I am splitting that dosage and taking 2.5 mgs everyday). I am sorry, but I don't have any of my lab information.

I felt great up until this past week, and even then, no symptoms of going hyper. I never had them to begin with and all of this was caught by a routine blood work physical.

I have noticed a soft swelling above my collar bone, on my left side. It is puffy and swollen to the touch and not hard . It starts about 1/2 inch above the collar bone on the left side base of my neck and goes almost to the muscle of my shoulder. I would say its about a 4 inch area that is puffy, but does not hurt. I am really scared as to what this could be, because I know that area is filled with lymh nodes.

Any suggestions would be helpful. i have had this swelling for about 3 weeks now, and just placed a call to my endo. i am waiting to hear back. Have any of you ever experienced this problem? I am hoping that it is just thyroid related, and not my lymph nodes.
