Are you on any ATD (antithyroid drug)? PTU? Also is this a T3 kab result or a Free T3 result? I have never seen the lab ranges for the T3 like this. The range is awfully small.

P.S. Also do you have your Free T4 lab result? If you are on any ATD, it is important to have the FT4 done.

Yes this was FT3 result and no I am not on any anti-thyroid meds. My FT4 was a little low also, but in the normal range. I might be a little off on the FT3 range, but I know the first number is right. I have been off the PTU for a little over four weeks now and this is my first blood draw sine being off.

I just asked Elaine Moore this same question. My FT3 is to low for my bodies needs. I have been taking 200mcg of Selenium for the last 3 years to help keep my FT3 at a good level. Recently my T3 began to fall again even though I am taking my Selenium. I recently learned that adding Vit.E along with the Selenium should do the trick...here's Elaines response. Okay...did I misunderstand your post...are you asking about raising your T3 or lowering it? Your thread heading says lowering...but your actual post says to raise your T3. My response is to raise your T3...Big Hugs...Kathy

These two ladies know what they are talking about! I asked the same question about 2 weeks ago - and immediately went out for Selenium and Vit E - I don't know if it is in my head (I doubt it, because the pain is very real) but my muscles aches have gotten better in just this short while. The pain is still there - but I was actually able to do some laundry, the dishes, and vacuum yesterday - normally I struggle/or can't even do the dishes. I have been wanting to say Thank You!

I buy my Vitamins from my local health food store. They know me well there and know I have Graves disease. They make sure I get the supplements that wont trigger hyper with additives and colouring. Big Hugs...Kathy

My Free T4 is in the upper range, while my Free T3 was right smack in the middle of the range....and I've been feeling it (tired, cranky, slow digestion, weight gain around the waist). I just started taking 200 mcg of selenium from GNC about three weeks ago, and it is definitely making a difference. No more crankiness, tiredness and the spare tire around the waist is coming off. I will get labs done at the end of April, so truth be told then, but I'm sure the selenium is going the trick!
