How do you know you are in Remission

Hello ladies,

How do I tell if I am officially in remission? I was diagnosed in February-ish of 2013, and thanks to the help of this group, I was within normal range by September, and took myself off of the ATD's in December of 2013. I have had labs about 6 times since then and everything was normal, with continued elevated TPO antibodies. I have been on nothing at all since December 2013, no beta blockers or ATD. Can I actually say that I am in remission??

If you can have the TSI and TRAb checked in your area where you lived would be the way to find out. Or if the TBII if available.

Congratulations! Sounds like it though I'm not sure, I just found out I have Graves Disease. Hopefully I will be in some sort of remission, sucks always being tired.

Well, it's looking like I spoke too soon - I seem to be having a flare up. It started Thursday morning (Feb 25) when I woke up feeling like I had a lump in my throat that still has not gone away.

I thought that this might happen because I had been under an abnormal amount of stress in the days leading up to it. I didn't think that it would happen this fast, but... I'm going to see what happens in the next few days, go back on the dose of supplements that got me into normal range, take lemon balm tea every day, and relax... see how things go. I will make an appointment to see my doctor and get bloodwork as well... fingers crossed that I am able to manage it early. I have none of the tremors, weakness, increased heat, etc., just the throat lump :(

Good luck with the blood test. Let us know how those Free Ts are doing.

I find that seasonal changes through out the year makes a difference to how I am feeling. Diet is different depending on the goitrogens or other foods/drinks. I try to keep as balanced as possible.
