Did you recently reduce your dose?

Low BP/high heartrate are often hyPER symptoms....you can have transient hyPER symptoms after a dose reduction.

Also, a temporary spike in antibodies is thought to bring on hyPER symptoms.

Dietary triggers can do it, too.

Gotta love the Graves' puzzle sometimes.

I'd just keep monitoring things and if they don't settle down in a couple of weeks, go for labs.

PS Not sure what you mean by "really low" BP.......same thing with "high" heartrate.....just to be on the safe side, you might
want to share the values and do some Googling to make sure they're within the usual ranges.

I completely have this same question. When I went to a docs apt last Friday my BP was so low it took the third time to register on the machine and she had to put the band around my forearm. Never had that happen before. It is obviously my beta blocker b.c it is a blood pressure lowering drug. However my heart still races. I went a day without taking it but then my heart rate got so high.

What was the reading of your heart rate normally hyper highB/P fast Pulse but it isn't unusual for someone to have a low BP.

If I was you I would invest in a BP/pulse machine one that does both and monitor your own . also what dose of Beta blockers are you taking and how high is your pulse. It might be time to lower your Beta blockers.

I would also get your thyroid labs done if you haven't done so already. Also discuss this with your doctor it would be a good idea to keep and eye an both your HR and BP and you can monitor it at home also.

Try not to worry to much stress can cause your hear rate to increase food drinks so there could be other factors at play.

I have always had problems with high-pulse and low blood pressure.

Sorry that I can't help, I think it's normal for some of us.

My blood pressure when in normal range is usually about 130/65. It's been 90/30.... sometimes 70/30. My heartrate has been averaging around 65 bpm but lately it's been around 85. This is at rest, not after walking around. My endo did mention he thought I might have something wrong with my adrenals as my skin seems to be darkening as if I've been tanning. I googled adrenals and low blood pressure and it scared the heck out of me so I figured I'd post here to see if anyone else could relate. I did have a reduction in my dosage of PTU. I am now taking 50 mg a day in two divided doses. I have labs next week but am thinking to do my labs this week. I am no longer on a beta blocker. I haven't been on the beta blocker for about 3 weeks now.

I know that BP and all that contolls it is confusing.
I have very low BP and it can souse me to faint sometimes.
usuly mine is around 98/50. I also have a problem with flushing Potassium do to my RAI and other GD ralated issues.
You might want to take some to see if it helps. I started out taking 99mg you can get at health food stores and took 2 3 times a day. I eventualy had to have a perscription for me as it was not enough.
Try taking some Potassiuma nd eating some high potassium foods for a few days and then have your BP checked again. If it is better and you feel better that that might be the issue.

One of the way that the body compensates for low blood pressure is to elevate the heart rate. This is due to a reflex called the baroreceptor reflex. If you're walking around with low blood pressure, it's the body's normal adjustment to try to make up for it by increasing your heartrate. If you were on beta blockers, I'd recommend talking to your doc to see if you should get your dose decreased. I recently have put the pieces together of getting very tachycardic when my blood pressure went down, and realized that I no longer need the high dose of beta blocker that I am on, and lowered myself down to a smaller dose and feel great. My doctor is a coworker of mine (strangely enough) and between the two of us we're figuring out this big puzzle.

My first doctor told me that if my heart rate "stays" above 80 - to make sure I let her know. Now the BP - mine has been going up lately? So what is with that? I know you certainly don't want it too low or too high. You don't want your number on top "over" 150 and you don't want the lower number "below" 60" - I believe my numbers are correct. I know it also depends on the person. Best of luck to you! This is really a struggle for me.

Being hyPO can cause an increase in BP - I know this from research and personal experience.

Yup, my new endo says high bp=hypo, she's got a chart in her exam room, shows all the symptoms of hypo, constipation,weight gain,depression,dry skin, low body temp and high bp.

I have a great BP (I take atenolol) but have always had a faster heart rate. Even when I could run all day as a kid or dance all night as a young adult, I had a resting pulse of 85 bpm.

My heartrate usually hangs out in the high eighties to 100. My blood pressure looks good, (while taking propranolol). Everyone's a little different. I'm just happy if my heartrate stays below 115 or 120.
