Graves' Disease Support Group
Graves-Basedow disease is a medical disorder that may manifest several different conditions including hyperthyroidism (over activity of thyroid hormone production), infiltrative exophthalmos (protruberance of one or both eyes and associated problems) and infiltrative dermopathy (a skin condition usually of the lower extremities). This disorder is the most common cause of...
Certain lighting is a definite trigger for migraines.
I keep all my tech (computer, iPad and phone) on night setting with just the orange, red, yellow tones. Lights I'm not sure about. I think I might have some of the wrong type. Will look into that.
Cookware is all okay (no aluminium). I did switch back to a natural toothpaste as per your advice, but will have to find one for sensitive teeth.
I have very old carpet that's dirty (regularly vacuumed, but not washed). Was a bit broke from taking a medical leave last year, but hoping to switch over to an environmentally friendly and me-friendly flooring. Trying to find something sturdy, warm, and easy to clean. Doesn't have to be fancy, just needs to not be killing me and the planet.
Today is the beginning of day 5 without a headache or migraine. Still trying to figure out what the magic sauce is that's making this happen. Mysterious, but welcome.
Thank you both for all your suggestions and kindness!
I attended a funeral several weeks ago of a cousin-in-law where the memorial was held inside the large room at the funeral home. I could smell scents coming at me (the funeral home turned on their perfumed scents) as well as coming off from the people attending and the flowers. I sat in the back and was so grateful that I had my scarf to pull up to my face to mask the scents.
Here is what I found to work for me, as soon as I am exposed to strong scents from others and from the buildings, etc.; as soon as I can, I head outside and sit in the sun for a few minutes. The power and the warmth of the sun helps to rid the smells clinging on me to make things easier for me as not to bring the scents back home with me.

I totally get when I smell people from a block away. Nothing like the smell of cologne/perfume, cigarettes and alcohol plus underarm deodorant. Ugh!
Look into the lighting thing. Lights have been known to set off seizures. I prefer natural light. If I can put a skylight into a roof and get natural light over a lamp/ceiling light, I would. Light aimed upward better than seeing the light straight on or seeing a light filament.
Personally, I would get rid of the old carpeting. And, NOT buy any again. The new chemicals and glues are not good.
Here’s another kicker, the new furniture that they are making are used with formaldehyde and glues that are unhealthy for us, too. ( example: IKEA furniture)
Just put us in a cave and maybe it will all go away.
One last thing, I use a BlueAir air filter machine - It has helped my husband with his asthma but it cleans the air of dust and particles and it makes a big difference.
I am keen to remove the old carpet - but what to replace it with? I'm keen on marmoleum. It can be recycled, but it's expensive. Also have HEPA air filter on the list, but want to buy a good one. Have to save up, but would like one sometime this spring. Now going on a week with only little twinges of headaches. Am probably going to ask pharmacy if they can put my prescription for Aimovig on hold. I'm thinking maybe the introductions of melatonin and high protein breakfast are starting to bear fruit.
mmztcass, funerals are unpleasant to begin with, I wish people wouldn't spray scented room deodorizers. I get a pretty awful reaction to those scents and it sounds like you do to. I watched the documentary Stink on Netflix and they interviewed a teenage boy who had an anaphylactic reaction to something in Axe (the hideous teen boy spray), but the company wouldn't tell his family what was in it. Poor kid lives in fear of encountering whatever it is in the product. Terrible.
I came across this for organic bedding by chance online. I wasn't searching for it:

Comfortable for walking on and natural.
Do you have wood underneath? (Sand and varnish with natural sealers - they have them)
I use a BlueAir Air Filter machine. I got it on sale at Costco, so many years ago when my husband had asthma attacks. They are rated very highly and what’s nice about it, it creates white noise so I can sleep better (I have tinnitus) They use them in hospitals, too.
