Hi, I was just recently diagnosed with severe Graves disease after a thyroid storm. Prior to that, I had a choking incident 2 weeks before where I choked on steak. Then the day before my storm, I choked again. Upon a visit to the ER, I had an ultrasound due to a lump in my neck and it showed a goiter with nodules. I am wondering if this could be why I was choking? and how do I reduce the size? I have been on a liquid only diet since the first incident that I choked and I would like to start on solids again but am nervous. Any advice is appreciated.

Hello all, Graves newbie here! Diagnosed Nov 2017 after about 4 months of sickness, was hyperthyroid and put on methimazole. Hello, I’m new to the group. I went to the ER a month ago for heart palpitations and dizziness and the doctor ran some blood test and diagnosed me with hyperthyroidism. She told me I need to see an endocrinologist in 3-5 days. Has anyone been misdiagnosed before? I don’t really trust ER docs. I feel horrible though and I see an endocrinologist in 2 weeks.
