In 2000 I was diagnosed with Graves by an endocrinologist, she said it is not active right now. I have nodules in my thyroid, one with calcification.The thyroid is enlarged, goiter she calls it. Nothing to worry about, just annual ultrasound.
I have Lupus and a pitiutary adenoma. In 2009 I saw a different endo, she said I don't have Graves according to labs. She never did antibody tests, my first did which showed a high Graves antibody.
Here is my question: Whenever I have an infection I get very nervous and restless and tachycardia including ventricular tachycardia. My cardiologist said this is due to Graves. He prescribed Metropopol(spell) and had an anaphyletic (spell) reaction, stopped med. Maybe I do have Graves, maybe not, is it possible that it can be quiet and flare when a person has an infection??My endo says no not possible

You did not say, were you taking any OTC meds for the infections? Some OTC cannot be taken because of epinephrine in these which will rev up the thyroid.
Your thyroid antibodies must not be very high for these to only flare whenever an infection happens.

Adverse reactions to adrenaline include palpitations, tachycardia, arrhythmia, anxiety, panic attack, headache, tremor, hypertension, and acute pulmonary edema. So those with thyroid problems cannot handle epinephrine because their bodies are already in a 'rev' up state.
If this applies to you, you might want to check the meds (if taking any) and consider alternatives without any epinephrine.
