Another thing I have thought of that perhaps you may benefit from the supplements in this article, if okay with your health practitioner:

Many people with GD can't tolerate fish oil caps as it will make them hypER from their thyroid.
So what I take is liquid Salmon oil using a measuring spoon such as any where from 1/4 tsp and up which is purer and a bit less Iodine and Mercury in it. At least for the brand I take.
Something for you to think about along the lines.

How that relates to Graves' disease or the medications for it? I have noticed the first thing that happens to me when I am on MMI is appetite loss. I eat less, drink less water, and gain weight. (Fatty liver?) [Perhaps this isn't due so much to the medication as to the reduction of thyroid hormones.] I know my endo does a liver blood test, but that doesn't show NAFLD? A scan is needed? All this I didn't know.
I take fish oil, and my need for MMI has steadily reduced. Perhaps everyone really is different.
Merry christmas to everyone and happy, healthy new year!

Caution on taking the Wheatgrass supplement. It contains some Iodine.
Most people with GD must avoid Iodine and there are a handful who can tolerate this. But if there is a problem with Iodine (which is why we suggest to many people to follow a Low Iodine diet to be safe), it might not be such a good idea to take this and find yourself going right back to getting hypER all over again.

I am in remission for 8 months now - YAY, so don't think it has anything to do with Graves meds. Here's hoping you stay in remission.

Thanks for that. I take D3 and B complex, so I will bear that in mind. My Endo seemed to think that the Black Cohosh I am taking for menopausal symptoms might have something to do with it, as oestrogens are processed in the liver, but I am sceptical. I will have my latest blood results soon so will post again if there is anything significant to report. My eyes have started swelling and feeling gritty, which is worrying. The eye doctor is keen to get me back on steroids the minute my results go out of range so fingers crossed.
kind regards,
Sarah
