ARGH.... wasn't done posting. My 2 year old hit enter. lol. Anyhow, I have a few concerns. I've been having neck spasms/twitches on the right side of my neck near my collarbone. You can see and feel these twitches when I have them. They started yesterday and seem to have increased today. As of tonight, I've got some eye twitches in my right eye going on... they only last a few seconds and don't hurt or cramp up or anything. I'm wondering what this could be? Does anyone have an idea or has anyone experienced this?

Could you be hypO and maybe needing more replacement med? Could you get your thyroid levels checked again and see where you're at?

I remembered this one gal (somewhere) who'd got frequent thyroid labs on weekly basis to see where she was at after her TT.

P.S. What about checking your Calcium, Magnesium, and Potassium levels?

I had labs drawn Friday and should have the results tomorrow or sometime this week. I also emailed my surgeon to ask her if they results were in yet and also let her know my symptoms. I am definitely hypo... it's a matter of HOW hypo am I? I did increase my synthroid to 100 mcg as of today. She said I may experience some hyper transient symptoms as my body adjusts as she thinks it may be a little high for me due to my weight. I know I'm hypo because I started having the muscle aches yesterday and started getting tired on Thursday... I also started needed my afternoon naps as of today again.

As you can see, I'm all over the place with my thoughts. lol. I don't think I've quite entered hypo hell but I'm probably getting there... hopefully the synthroid kicks in sooner than later and throws me a life vest :)

Okay, my surgeon contacted me back tonight and my calcium and parathyroids are completely normal! Rule that out... Unfortunately, she didn't run my thyroid labs again (I'm due to have em run in 6 weeks) SO.... I am going to just go get em done myself tomorrow :) I'll post results when they return. I know that it's too soon to know if the synthroid is affecting my levels but at least I will know HOW hypo I actually am. :)

LOL...so sorry you're feeling scattered with your thoughts. Welcome to my world right now and my thyroid levels may be just 'slightly' off. We'll see soon where I'm at.

Yes, get those thyroid labs done and see where you're at.

Yeah, isn't it great!!! NOT!!! Yeah I started the Synthroid last week and feel not too different, more out of the brain fog like Elaine said but 25 mgs or mcgs whatever it is, probably won't be enough. I heard it's very slow to work though. I should have done the 50 like she told me. My husband doesn't believe how I talk doctors into or out of stuff, he thinks I'm crazy! LOL! I just thought 50 might too much to start with. Hey..we'll live through it, right? I think you should try some magnesium, it's supposed to stop muscle twitching. I used to get that all the time in one eye before I started taking mag a couple of years ago, it also helps constipation.

scorpio...how much does it cost to get the T3, T4 done at a local lab? Hope you start to feel better soon. Magnesium helped with my eye twitches after surgery.

bransnana...my husband thinks I'm nuts with directing my doctor too. "why don't you do what the doctor tell you to do?" I'm feeling a lot better having added 44mcg of synthroid to my Armour to bring my T4 up. No depression. My doctor wanted me to lower the Armour to bring up the T4

LOL.... I hear ya both. My husband said to me last night "Didn't your doctor tell you not to run your own labs anymore?".... I laughed and told him that I just wanted to see where my numbers were so that I would know HOW hypo I actually am. I don't plan to make any adjustments to my medications... I plan to keep my synthroid at 100 mcg for now (for at least 6 weeks) and give it a fair shot. I just want to see HOW hypo I really am so that I know if I'm in hell or headed there or what! Before my surgery, I use to get my labs done every week or every 2 weeks on my own but I also use to titrate my PTU on my own too and if I had listened to my doctor the whole time, I would have never achieved remission. I would have been in misery longer in hypo hell if I'd listened to my doc EVERY time. I always say "No one knows your body as well as you do".

@Beazer: For my TSH, Free T4, and Free T3: It's about $66 with discount codes and such. For Free T4 and TSH only it's like $40.

Hey Scorpio- are you on a Vitamin D supplement? Or any new med at all?

Sorry, I hit enter. Oops. The reason I ask is that you could have post-operative hypocalcemia. Or transient PO Hypocalcemia. Did they talk to you about that?

@Tracey: I am on Vitamin D... I started on 50000 units 3 weeks before surgery and was told to stay on it for 3 weeks after surgery as well. I plan to stay on a maintenance dose of 1000-2000 units daily. I am only on synthroid 100 mcg which was gradually increased since surgery (started on 50 mcg week 1, 88 mcg for 2 weeks, and now 100 mcg for next 6 weeks). My doc said I may experience some transient hyper symptoms on the 100 mcg but it would pass once my body adjusts. My calcium levels and potassium levels are perfectly normal and my parathyroids are functioning normal. I did my thyroid labs today so I'll see where my numbers are. My guess is I'm just hypo from being without my thyroid now and the synthroid hasn't caught up with my body's needs just yet.

Funny how men actually listen to their doc and do what ever they say without question, why is that? If I had done that i don't know where I'd be with that ass of an endo I had at first. They think the doctor is God or something "here take this pill." Half the time they have NO idea what the hell it is! LOL!!

I think it's great that you get your labs done when you want - I was actually thinking about doing that myself last night. I saw my Endo last in Sept & I'm 7 weeks away from seeing her again. I think I'm still slighly hyper but the 10mgs of Methimazole is keeping it under control & I'm dying to know where my levels are. I just wouldn't have the first clue how to go about it. Do I just walk into the lab & tell them what I want?
