If I''m so hypo why am I wide awake at 4:45am. I laid down around 10:30pm and I looked at the clock every hour till I couldn't take it no more and got up at 2am and just stayed up.Makes for a long day. Just lowered my meds yesterday so not sure that is it. Gonna get my house work done in crash later. I never know what to expect out of my body from onr day to
the next. I hate making plans cause I may not be able to carry them out. i can feel great one minute and like crap the next, whew I'm tired and they tell me I have a long way to go.

Insomnia is one of the hypO symptoms for me. Even when I was just slightly hypO, I did not sleep well at nights.

I feel worse than when I was hyper, my arms drive me crazy aching,plus can't sleep or go to the bathroom. Hope lower meds kick in soon.

Hope so too. It's really hard to have thyroid levels that are 'off'. The first time I was severely hypO, it took nine months to recover from it.

MMZ, thanks for that insight - guess my question is what is considered "hypo"? To me at the first 4 week lab my FT4 was 1.27
with the range .71- ?? sorry can't remember just remember I was right about mid range... and now at 2nd 4 week lab am at .76 FT4 -
meds reduced now to 5 mg and hope the FT4 will rise some.... haven't slept for years...:)) and actually I noticed "changes" as the levels dropped - I know my body quite well - I noticed "warmness and hot flashes" returning and unable to sleep now the question is exactly and what level to I become "hypo"? How do you really know? Loaded questions huh?

Everyone might feel different at different levels. I see you Snippy are quite hypo, I saw your labs on Kris's post. You should have actually stopped the meds for a week and got back on them at less than 20. You are very overdosed, no wonder you feel like this. Why do docs do this to people? 20 mgs is what they put people on that are hyper, not hypo. At 7.6, cindeeh was lowered to 5 mgs where Snippy's FT4 is even lower and is on 20? It doesn't make sense what different docs do....

Yes.. hypo is a million times worse than hyper for me.

You are absolutely describing hypo symptoms.

I saw the poor reduction too. 20 mgs is way too much. Somehow you need to find a doctor that has a clue.

Snippy, the girls that already posted have given me some great insight of the same nature. It is good to learn that you are not going crazy after all and that some of these hyper symptoms can also be hypo symptoms.

It kind of sucks to learn how to relate to and intrepreter our symptoms, doesn't it? Hopefully you figure it out soon. Best to you!
