Ok I went back up from the 6.25 mg per day of MMI to 1.25 mg MMI per day with the dosage split between AM and PM doses. My FT4 at lab check 2 weeks ago was at 1.31 and FT3 3.2 if I remember correctly
and TSH was dropping a little bit more. I was having sleep issues
and feeling somewhat hyper as well as hot flashes at night. So I didn't
argue too much on the increased dose. I figured I'd give it a couple of
weeks and see if there are any changes.
Overall, the sleep is better but is totally interrupted with the hot flashes
that just roll through one after the other from about 1:00 am until about
4:30 or 5 AM. I haven't found a "cure" so wondered if may you ladies would have an idea as to perhaps a trigger that is setting this off....
I definitely feel sluggish on the increased dosage, no hyper symptoms at all and heart rate on either dose was steady at a 54 resting HR. So I am
wondering what else I can be looking at for a cause. I felt overall better on the 6.25. I have had a little stuffiness which may be seasonal allergies. I try to limit sugar and don't use any of the artificial sweeteners.
I use whole grains in breads, etc. I try to eat a good amount of fruits and veggies and a variety of them - so if there is something that could be
a consideration I would be appreciative. I have tried evening primrose
with no success. I take 200 mg selenium and 2000 D3 along with
Lisinopril 5mg and Htz 25 mg.
I appreciate any ideas you may have. I'm really getting tired of these
hot flashes....:)) That seems to be my most persistent sympton.

If it may be helpful, this is where I posted references to the thyroid/CHF connection. My most recent comment on that thread relates to my increased understanding of sub-clinical central hypothyroidism.

I insisted that my husband be checked for his thyroid before the doctor gave him antidepressants, when his heart rate was as high as mine was at the worst part of GD.
To my surprise, he was hypothyroid. But it was a few more months and he was practically on his death bed before he got the most important diagnosis of CHF. The CHF made his heart race because his heart function was so low it was ineffective otherwise.
