Grandparents Raising Children Support Group
This community is dedicated to grandparents who are the primary caregivers of their grandchildren. So I got approval again to take a day off "without pay" in order to see this through. I'm not happy that CPS feels my mental status is in question, after 16 months! Out of those 16 months I had the children in my care for 12 months.
My husband took the test yesterday, He told me it was boring, but that the assistant giving the test had a good sense of humor.... That's a good thing! The doctor came in and gave him an ink block test that was all. The doctor never asked about our family, never asked about how he felt about raising the kids or anything regarding the children. He told me the time with the doctor was recorded, but not the time with the assistant. My husband told me he thinks this Doctor works mostly with children, he said, their offices were filled with toys (he had to move a few times during the testing) .
I had to laugh when he told me about on the form he had to fill out, one of the questions was; What was your least liked subjects in school? My husband put down Math and Social Studies. First two questions out of the testers mouth were Math and History questions!
I hate having to take unpaid time off from work to get this stuff done, but come Nov 4th I know it's the end of it! As you can see I still see humor in life, so if that's not an accomplishment based on what we have gone through....Or maybe I am crazy,

Ink blot test, really? I didn't even know those were used in a child custody situation.
It is so ridiculous that you guys have to do this. You would think that CPS would be thrilled to have family willing to take the kids.
