Go & enjoy your time with your hubby!! You are right, the husband/wife relationship is very important and when it's solid, the kids benefit greatly from that. Have fun! I'm jealous!!!

Well, I have an appointment with the Dr. for my little guy. He started coughing and I had to give him three breathing treatments yesterday. Oldest is coughing as well. Something is telling me not to go. Why didn't I buy insurance on the tickets at the time of purchase?

Oh no! I hope every one is OK and you feel like you can go on your trip. The best advise I ever got was that the best thing you can do for your kids is to have a strong marriage. Praying for good news...

Two weeks after our 26th anniversary, my husband suffered stroke at 49. Our youngest was graduating high school and two older ones were working on their independence. We had one thing left. Our youngest had her last dance recital before going to college. She begged me to be backstage mom as this w be the last time. When we arrived home after last show, hubs said he had a cold. Next day we went to work. I worked late because we were opening new faculty. His cold was worse. Next morning he brought me coffee and said he'd see me that night. My boss was waiting for me to take me to hospital.he collapsed at work w brain aneurysm. Surgery, secondary stroke w paralysis. Our lives were changed forever. We'll never walk on a moonlit beach. For the past 26 years I have cared for him. Please understand that I am not trying to bring gloom and doom here. What I want to say is to grab that moment while it's there. You never know what tomorrow holds. Your GC w be fine and the time w go so fast you'll wonder why you even thought about cancelling. I wish we had taken that time for us.

We went to the Dr. yesterday and I have to bring him back this morning for a follow up. Dr. said he's having asthma symptoms. I have him on his breathing treatments and also an oral steroid for five days. Poor guy was so tired last night, but do to the breathing treatment and steroids, he couldn't sleep. Again this morning he's up at five and running around like a chicken with their head cut off.. but that's my guy!
I called my friend to let her know what is happening, she put me so at ease with just a few words. No problem, he'll just need his breathing treatments , it's from the season change. She is so cool and calm, her mom is an RN who I'm also friends with, I think she takes after her mom with that calm manner.

Tomorrow we are leaving for Hawaii . I know the kids are in great hands and even though the little guy is ill, he'll be OK.

I won't be back on until I get back, Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Great advice, Daisy...............and I'm happy to hear you're going NutsandBolts!!! Sounds like he's in very capable hands. Asthma is very manageable even for the average parent, but your little one will have an RN close by, so you have no worries.
