Now me, I LOVE the carnival, I am the first one on the wildest rides and am begging the kids to go with me. The corndogs with lots of mustard and ketchup (I know I'm weird) are great, (hate cotton candy) but love funnel cake and the lights at night at a carnival are sooo cool. How can you not love it??
Ah, but to each her own.
By the way I do like some culture, theater is my weakness.
Hope you had fun anyway
I have whiplash from the boat ride (that thing looks tame, but it's VICIOUS!!!!). The back seat of my car is covered in some kind of dried goo, and my husband miraculously managed to avoid going on every single ride!!! (He grabbed my iPhone and said he was the official photographer.)
It was OK. Not a big carnival and NO FUNNEL CAKE, Ravensgma! NO CORN DOGS!!! Holy shimoly at least they should have something good to eat.
But we lived through it, so there goes our kiddie obligation for the week. PHEW! Maybe they'll all sleep late tomorrow, but with all that sugar in their system anything could happen.
HAHAHAHAHA!
Hubs and I had just bought a little red convertible for those luxurious little weekend trips complete with wonderful hotels, great meals, and a whole lot of nookie!!! We were sooooooo looking forward to retirement and just spending lots of time together, spending time with good friends and just relaxing. I wanted to make up all those crochet patterns I've collected over the years, he wanted to build the workshop and putter..instead.........now this is our life.....
We do homework, and have bedtime, eating and bath schedules, we go to open house night, back to school night, award ceremonies, chorus recital nights, birthday parties with a room full of screaming kids, G rated movies and yes.....those dreaded carnivals!!!!!
I long for those past days of soft jazz on the stereo, a cool glass of Reisling on the table and either reading a good book (one that doesn't have the title "Grandparents as Parents", the second time around, or crocheting something, ahhhh peace & quiet where are thee????
I have no advice but will join you in sharing a virtual bottle of wine or whine...whichever or both, lol.
Hey -- maybe I can stare at the pictures on OUR walls and say pretentious things :-)
Thank God for Aunts my daughter and her boyfriend do all that kinda stuff for us. We whine about how old we are and we are just not able to do it with them. Kinda a guilt thingy. But I will do anything for 1 hour alone with my husband. Even if we only take a nap togather.
