I'm having drive by issues

I think I posted before about my dd driving by our house at night and setting off fire crackers just after I placed GS down for bed. Well, last night I woke up due to a cold and I was outside sitting in the back. It was around 2am, I saw a big flash and boom like a M60 or whatever they call those BIG boom fireworks, Then I heard stuff falling off my roof like the sand that's on your shingles. I looked this morning and didn't find anything yet, I told my husband what happened and he didn't say anything, just looked dissapointed knowing it was her. The kids slept through it, thank God. I'm afraid she is going to set our house on fire, we live in the desert! If I call the police I would have to prove it's her, which I can't last night, but the firecracker night, I saw her car pulling away from our street, but that was last week or so?

Maybe an order of protection? I'm really not wanting to start any more court issues because the adoption is so close, but my God, if she catches the house on fire but throwing fireworks on our roof, she is putting us all at risk!

That is insane...I am so sorry....maybe an order of protection is the best choice.....again, I am so very sorry .....

If she does it regularly, you could try to take a video of her as she drives by. I'd be the kind of person who would stay up all night, just to catch her. (And maybe do shifts with my husband.)

If you have a radio shack near you, they have surveillance camera's relatively cheap. I would recommend getting a few and installing them on your home. They can record onto something and then you would have your proof. Otherwise, what I would do is set a camcorder, with the date stamp and time, and if you see her record her.

Is there a pattern as to certain days she does this? If so, maybe talk to a detective and see if they can come watch.

I think you can just go to the sheriff's office and fill out a form to request an order of protection. They will check it out and s/keep an eye on your house. Either they will catch her in the act or they will tell you what your next step should be. You are right that it is a fire hazard. She could be arrested for vandalism. Having it on record with sheriff will be a good note for adoption as the judge will see what she is doing and can only make her look bad in the eyes of the court.

The drive by has no pattern. I do have to say I need to trust my gut feeling. I woke up again at 2:30 this morning, and stayed up for about an hour. My husband found a card on his truck from her today. Of course it is fathers days, I get an email about how much she hates me and hope i die a slow painful lonely death. My husband read the card, then placed it back in the envelope and tossed it on the counter.

I am sorry that your d feels the need to lash out at you. The one that is taking care of the children. Since you are in the process of adoption ,ask your attn to file the OP paperwork for the children. Also print out all the emails and keep logs on the times she comes by. This will also help the attn with the OP. It is almost like she is stalking your house...so sad...I was thinking if you go to bass pro shop or something like that and get the deer cams. They show everything in the night. that might also help your case..good luck and blessing

She has focused on you and wants to take blame for her problems. She is trying to cause a rift between you and your husband. File a police report asap. She wants to hurt you and may become aggressive.

Daisy's suggestion is interesting and seems right. She may escalate her aggression especially if she believes she isn't "getting through" (whatever that means in her mind). At the same time, acknowledging her would only make her feel more in control. So it's a no-win situation. I second the idea of filing a police report.

Oh geez, that's really crazy and scary! An order of protection is an option but not protection. I have one against sil but cops said if he wants to hurt me a piece of paper isn't going to stop him. I've taken other precautions and steps to protect myself and kids. Cameras are good because then you have proof but only after something happens. I would make a police report, they may just go over and speak to your daughter enough to scare her into stopping. You don't have to prove anything to report fireworks being thrown at your house...fireworks are illegal where I live. Would it help if your husband confronted her?
