Not at all, Fortress! My husband has refused therapy because he's the type who will just say "deal with it." It's the only thing about him that makes me want to scream! Other than that he's kind, generous, funny and loving. But he will not discuss emotions at all.

He insists that Pinky needs to see her children and that he still loves her. Well, so does her bio-mom, but she'd be happy if Pinky stayed out of everyone's life as well.

So far the kids seem to be coping OK, and the counselors are working with them on it. I have a feeling that Pinky won't be around much longer anyway. She's either doing to die or disappear again. Apparently she's all but living on the street - she's been moving around from sugar daddy to sugar daddy and has no home of her own.

I just pray to God she doesn't o.d. during one of her visits at your house :0( Having an overdose happen at my house has just been devastating. There is not a day goes by that I don't think about it with a very heavy heart. We are coming up on a one year mark soon & I don't think I will ever stop torturing myself with the "what ifs". Im afraid to ever allow either of my kids back into my home because the judge I had to appear before to get guardianship of my 3 y.o. said even though I wasn't home, the baby wasn't there, & I had been trying to get her help, even though she was 23 years old, she was still "under my authority" living in my home. I think it had been 5 days since I brought her home from another medical detox when the friend came by my house STRAIGHT FROM DrUG COURT, used, & overdosed. I really liked the kid. He was a respectful, likeable young man, & I still can't believe he's gone. It would be SO traumatizing if anything happened to her in your home, & depending on how it all "played out", the authorities could take a tough stance against you & your hubby for her being there. It just sux to be in the position you are in. Prayers for you!!!

I feel your pain. My story is similar. I had my son and his girlfriend on drugs. I had done nothing but enabled...which I had confused with "helping". I justified everything. I got custody of my granddaughter as soon as she was born. I lost everything material, but worse than that...they almost took my soul from me. They took me down with them. I couldn't fight the battle any more and I'm the strongest person that I know! I finally played tough love. I kicked them out....I had them arrested.....and I finally was at peace. I didn't have to lose anything else to them again. Everyone kept telling me...it's not your son...it's the drugs. Well the drugs won. I couldn't keep fighting them. I am happy to say that after fighting my butt off to find room at a rehab and begging the judge to agree to it...my son is in rehab. It took alot as there are so many people with drug problems. I went to the top to get him in and I wouldn't stop. He's clean almost 2 months. Unfortunately the baby's mother is far from it. I learned that you have to let go and let them fall. It doesn't mean you don't love them, it just means you aren't going to allow them to keep doing this. You aren't helping by letting them come back over and over. I found out the hard way...over and over. I love my son, but I love him in rehab much more. He will have prison time for his actions, but I know he is safe. I always worried when I would get a call that something had happened to him. This is the hardest thing.....to watch 6 policemen hold guns to my sons head....a memory I wish I could get out of my head. He wouldn't have stopped if I wouldn't have finally turned my back. Financially...he broke me...mentally...he almost destroyed me....emotionally....the deepest pain anyone could ever know. So if I had to do it again....if he wouldn't have gotten help immediately....he would have been out on the streets and I would have locked the door. I let this go on way too long. If they want to help themselves...they will. You can't make them. If she wants to go to rehab...don't let them tell you no. You fight until you find someone at that place that will say yes. I told them I was calling the news, I emailed so many people....everyone has a boss and I didn't stop until I found it. My son finally wanted help and I was going to stop at nothing to get it for him. I'm at peace now....well as much as I can with a 4 month old! I'm not scared anymore. I'm not fearful...I don't worry about him now. It's a true relief. Learn how to say NO...unless she is willing to get help at that exact time. They know manipulation and they are the best at it as they've been doing that for drugs. Mother's love unconditionally...so true, but you have to protect your own self as they don't know what they are doing to us. They probably won't ever know what we go through. Good luck to you
