This community is dedicated to grandparents who are the primary caregivers of their grandchildren. In cases where the parents are not willing or able to provide adequate care for their children, grandparents may take on the role of primary caregivers. I can tell you that where I live there are three things that could the court to give the kids back to my daughter, she can prove I'm unfit, we agree to the custody change, or I purposefully keep her from visiting the kids (only legit reason for no visit is if she was high or abusive or otherwise inappropriate).
I know it can be a huge burden but if you don't have a lawyer I would get one, yesterday. I cashed out most of my teacher retirement fund to pay for a very good lawyer and it was worth it.
