Since it's hard to recall each of our situations, here is a brief recap: We got permanent guardianship (till age 18) of 4 year old gd who has leukemia (ongoing treatment for at least another year) Sept 2013. Parents are addicted, but my son presents really well. They use heroin but are in methadone clinic. Dose just enough to still get high, and the clinic keeps them because their policy (state funded $) is to keep helping. He's got 6 clean screens since Oct. BUT, they only do saliva tests, and only weekdays. Saliva is only good for up to 2 days. We requested along with his pcp to get hair test for 90 day clean, he refused.

So, today we were served with the following: petition for removal of guardianship, and also contempt of court in violation of guardianship orders. In the Sept guardianship papers there was a place to answer "any restrictions on CONTACT with parents". Ours says "no restrictions". We did that because parents were consenting to our guardianship and we did not want to have any mess ups, just get gd from parents asap. DCF was insisting on parents clinic records or they would take 2 kids right away. DCF gave up gd to us, and older sister went to her bio dad thru DCF. Son thinks no restrictions means we would get guardianship and hand her back! We know that's nuts. We know we are responsible for her. But who knows how a judge could rule. We have 2 separate court dates on the 2 challenges. All this along with her medical treatments and the usual fallout from her earlier life, it just keeps piling up.
