Hi, I am new here and raising 3 grandchildren with my husband. We have a 12 year old boy, which we have had living with us for about 5 years now. And we have a girl almost 10 and a boy that is 6, which have been with us for almost a year. We are now waiting for our adoption date which should be within a month. I am feeling guilty , but wondering if we are even the best choice for them. We are in our mid to late 50's . We don't seem to have the patience we used to have , we are lacking energy to keep up . We have recently joined a support group that meets a couple Tues. a month. It is really good , but we have daily issues with no where to turn. At least that's what it feels like. The 2 younger kids are in therapy, but I am wondering about that half the time. It seems to be moving very slowly. The kids are not listening, they are rude to us and say some very mean things. We are just finding this a very hard job. We truly love these kids , but this house is so filled with stress, that no one seems happy. I guess I just want to know there are others out there like us.
