But wouldn't they have to have an idea based on your DS user name? I'm sure most here don't use something that would connect themselves. Most user names appear random. Unless of course you put something (ie; named the child or bio) in your post. How would they be able to show it's you doing the posting?

That's right daisydduck this is a public site...I'm a lttile slow, so I thought I would make sure everyone knew in the least way I could. With FB you have controls you can use to outsiders. This forum I believe doesn't or I haven't found them as of yet. Just be careful as most have legal issues.

I have been sitting here reading all these comments. I have a suggestion, if I may. Maybe someone could open up a forum on a different site that is only known to those of us who are here at the moment. That way the person who sets it up can have control on who can join and who can't. That way, we can all feel safe to go to a place and vent our hearts away without ramification of anything. It could be done solely through messaging through this site.

I would set one up, but I don't know how to do so. Any ideas or thoughts on this? I know it's not 100% fool proof, but somethings got to give because I am personally afraid that people won't come here asking for advice or vent or help, if they know that what they say can be used against them. When you are venting, it's hard, IMO, to totally watch what you are saying.

On the other hand, I vent away anyway. There's nothing that I say here that I wouldn't gladly tell a judge and jury if I were called to.

To be sure I may hesitate to give away plans that involve legal maneuvering. But expressing my feelings? Heck! Maybe the courts need to hear more of it -- maybe that's what will get them to take us more seriously ;-)

Yes I googled her screen name. The point is that if someone wants to know something about you, all they have to do is google your name and they will find out what social networks you are on. I have been doing research and background checks for years now and it is amazing how much info you can get on someone within minutes.

grandma, I am working on a website for grandparent resource. I'm still looking into security for this site. In the meantime, I suggest everyone just be careful what you say, especially if you are involved in a legal situation. You can message someone else on this site but I'm not sure if the security is much better. I will get back to everyone within a week and hopefully will have it set up by then.
