I haven't posted here in quite a while. Just wanted to share our good news.
The adoption of our grandson was final last month!
We can now breathe a sigh of relief knowing he is ours forever :)
It's been a very long ordeal, as he's now 3 yrs and we've had him pretty much since birth. The long ordeal is another post, for another day, lol
We are now a family legally :)

My husband and I have just begun the process and we're hoping it goes smoothly. Pinky signed her notarized consent form over the weekend, and the bio father in Texas will sign his. Then it's a home study and a hearing.
Grandmama, was your adoption contested? We were told that's the only thing that could cause delays and additional expense. As it is now, it shouldn't cost us much more than $2500. There's only one other bio who must be served, but he hasn't had contact with our granddaughter since the day she was conceived, and may not be the biological father in any case.
I recently discovered that our eldest's counselor is an adoption specialist, and she's excited that we're adopting. The kids are on board as well, so there should be no problem. We hope.
