Grandparents Raising Children Support Group
This community is dedicated to grandparents who are the primary caregivers of their grandchildren. In cases where the parents are not willing or able to provide adequate care for their children, grandparents may take on the role of primary caregivers. Join the support group to find support, share your experience, and get advice from other members.
I wonder if it's the calm before the holiday storm. LOL
Nothing new is happening with us - Pinky is popping in and out of our lives again, but no new drama yet, thank God. :-)
other big challenges in the mix now that Im just not up for sharing online. Sometimes I start feeling paranoid, wondering who might be able to get into my posts like this with a little computer search knowledge. This group has been a HUGE blessing to me over the last 5 years, though. Im still here......just kind of hanging back for now.
Tune in next week when baby momma throws a fit, becomes homeless, or gets married and gets her kids back. Not to be seen includes Getting a job or getting kids to school on time or Accepting Reality....
We NEED each other. Who else could possibly understand completely what we are going through? I have supportive friends and a very supportive sister, who I am very thankful for, but they are not in our shoes.
Please feel safe to vent and cry and celebrate! I will pray for each and every one of you and your grandchildren. I need this support., and I will try to never judge and to try to help with my experience. I have quite a bit of experience with the legal system involving our GD and hope it might help someone else.
We now keep a sheet on the sofa just in case. HAHA
I am relatively new to the site, I stumbled on it about 2 months ago while searching desperately for anyone out there who could understand what I am going thru. This site has helped me SO much since then. I check in everyday and read whatever has been posted, tho I don't always reply or post.
I have no fear that my daughter would ever find me here. She would have to be able to think outside of her own little world for it to even occur to her that I may need some support or understanding. Sadly, she is too lost in her own miserable life to spare a moment for the rest of us.
GS and I are doing ok tho. We have some issues with his bio dad, but nothing I can't handle. Also we have found out that GS is very color blind. I knew he was, but now I have proof for the school.
I am working on Thanksgiving, but will be off Fri, Sat and Sun. GS will spend Turkey Day with my ex and son, and then we will have our own holiday on Friday.
That is the best description of the way the bios are - it would never, ever occur to them that their actions have affected us the way they have. They just don't care about anything but themselves.
