GERD & Heartburn Support Group
Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) is defined as chronic symptoms or mucosal damage produced by the abnormal reflux of gastric contents into the esophagus. This is commonly due to transient or permanent changes in the barrier between the esophagus and the stomach. If you are afflicted with GERD or heartburn, join the group and find support.
Also, since the appendix is on the right I really hope its not your gallbladder that causing problems. One of my really good friends had some of the same symptoms on the left too that they thought was acid reflux disease but it turned out that she had a gallbladder that was literally dying and starting to rupture so she had to have her gallbladder removed. If it feels like you swallowed a lighted match on the left to the point where it gets hard to breath that's usually one of a few symptoms.
Well, I hope you can find relief soon. GOOD LUCK :D
I was on Prevacid since December and that was sort of working but was still suffering. I then started getting a side effect of feeling hungry all the time. I moved onto Prilosec at the weekend. The side effects of feeling hungry have gone but the pains are still there. Maybe I need to give it longer or try Protonix? some people say one called Nexium or something is good too.
I have thought about the posibility of it being my gallbladder. But I have an ultrasound and nothing showed up. I wonder if it could still be that and it just didnt show up on the scan? Just we have a history of it in my family!
