They put the chip on my endoscopy and told me to eat pizza in a few days, and said I would be able to tell when the chip was coming off. I did as they said and I knew when it was coming off, it felt like I was having a panic attack for about 30 sec. hope things have gotten better for you.
The strict determined approach with diet gets you to a way better place. You wont need to take ppi's if you stick to the careful food diet. Then also work on the mental health part if this applies to you.
I have a small sliding hiatal hernia. I am more prone to gerd symptoms. It took me over a year with very much determination to get to a very good place. It was all about diet and sticking to plain foods for a long time. 8 years later I rarely have a flare up. Sleeping on a wedge helps with this too. Ovrenight refluxing continues the problem forever. This can be done. I rarely took a ppi. I took zantac here and there when needed. Now I rarely take an acid supressor. I lost weight in the process and was and still am an avid exerciser. I kept running every day. It takes the focus off of this issue for a while. You need that. Work on a healthy lifestyle and you will get there. You may always be prone to reflux but you can keep it at bay if you remain careful. You can get back to treating yourself but carefully until you are two years symtom free. This is a marathon not a race. There is a lot of hope if you do the hard work now. Life will get much better.
