Has anyone had a link between their gerd and the birth control pill? Just mine started when I was changing pills cuz they made me feel sick and now everytime I try to take them again I get bad flare ups of gerd
And then all of a sudden this past few weeks as I've tried to take birth control (Desogen), my reflux kicked up into HIGH gear, with the very first pill. When I stop them, it tapers down again, and when I take them, it kicks right up, so feel at a loss. I really needed them to control my crazy periods and pms. Just this morning I decided it's not worth it, trying to solve one problem by making another one worse. :(
I'm going to discuss other options with my GYN. Maybe certain pills aren't quite as bad for Gerd. Good luck!
And I would hate to go off them, NO KIDS FOR ME!!!
I was on the pill for about 8 months. I started to get heaps of mucus in my throat, and had to constantly cough. I went off the pill about 9 months ago, but i'm still experiencing the symptoms. I think that i may be experiencing acid reflux, as a result of the pill, as i've heard that it can be a trigger. I'm seeing a doctor soon to get this checked out, but i'll keep you posted.
