GERD & Heartburn Support Group
Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) is defined as chronic symptoms or mucosal damage produced by the abnormal reflux of gastric contents into the esophagus. This is commonly due to transient or permanent changes in the barrier between the esophagus and the stomach. If you are afflicted with GERD or heartburn, join the group and find support.
Yes I feel good after a good cry. Crying does help to release the body of tension and emotional stress. I also have GERD too and was told by both my GI and ENT to cut the stress, mainly because it makes my GERD flare up big time.
They are also both worried that if I don't try to cut the stress now it'll have a big effect on my throat years down the line and I could potentially develop Barretts Esophagus as a result of too much backed up stomach acid erroding my esophagus. Not to mention too much stress can cause Peptic ulcers which are no fun either.
