just support him as a friend
Hope he is doing ok
remind him that women INVENTED head games. Dating them wont make him immune from them.
in addition, for those of you suffering from what I call couple-itis it may be an opportunity to appreciate your partner in meaningful ways.
As most here know, I've been "out" since before coming out was kewl. I had been with a few chicks, nothing serious, just exploratory dating in my "finding out" stage when I was very young. So, I'm out and loud and proud for many years doing all sorts of "gay living" so to speak. Through all of this, I was very attracted to my very best friend who was a woman. Strange, I know, however odd it seems, I thought that I was in love with her in an intimate way (even though we had never been intimate.) So during a long "dry Stretch" I decided to explore the possibility of starting a relationship with her. She knew my past and had lots of questions about "why" but after a few months of dating and great sex, I asked her to marry me. We were engaged. After a few months of living together, we started to dicover things about each other that wasn't very pretty and we rapidly grew apart. Finally after two years of the charade, we split up. So after all of that. I truly know now that there is no woman for me...A year later I found my partner of 8 months and I'm trying to put my life back in order.
Moral to the story? If you already know who you are having issues with our societal freaks, don't become one~! Tell your friend that there is someone out there that isn't after "just one thing" Changing people places and things that he is used to might be a big step in the right direction. He'll find that batting for the other team is actually a crazier game than the one he is already playing~!
Hope this works out for him~! I surely wouldn't wish "going straight" on my worst gay enemy~!
Good Luck
Your rainbow xylophone avatar is interesting... I remember having one as a young child. I don't think my parents liked my tune, so they took it away and gave me a truck. Parents should allow their children to play any tune that comes naturally otherwise the kid just ends up in therapy later.
