Gay Men's Challenges Support Group
This community is dedicated to the challenges that gay men face, both between the partners in a relationship and from other influences (family, society, etc.). Find support and talk to others who may be facing the same challenges, and share your experience.
I believe almost everyone has this fear at one point or another. Some people are stronger in that they can live alone and be just fine with that. I'm in a relationship and it's not too great all the time and I still feel alone, but I have a comfort zone in that I was married and had a daughter and she loves me and I love her and even though she's young I have this faith that she'll always be with me. Don't get me wrong I love my partner but since I've became sick he's not the person I once knew, and I certainly am not the one he once knew either.
I try and try so hard to be just content with myself and comfortable that I could be alone but in the back of my mind I think and I know I would need someone. As everyones different your question is answered in many ways. As for myself and really everyone I wish that we are all content in our later years, may it be with someone or not.

As my current relationship "drags" itself to an end, I am looking forward to being single again. Instead of putting so much energy into being in or looking for a relationship, I can put that energy into me and the things that make me happy. I think that if I am truly happy inside then maybe I'll attract that special someone and unconditional love. Until then, I love me.
Its hard not to get all bunged up by the scene around you - the bodies, the clothes, the travel - the marketable gay lifestyle. Those folks are probably not truly happy.
Years ago when I was in between realtionships I went to group therapy. The crosstalk and constructive criticism I received was valuable. Maybe try a support therapy group - the face to face dialogue is good practice for meeting and talking to new people.
All the best.
