As for talking to your parents, I still have problems convincing my dad and step mom that I'm gay because I've never told them I was attracted to girls in the past, no gay tendencies (apparently, but ask any of my friends and my mom and they will tell you otherwise) and apparently I watch too many hetrosexual shows (majority of television is hetrosexual and I watch Glee (has two homosexual couples), The Walking Dead (zombiess!) and 2 Broke Girls (the girls are straight, but I ship them mad hard with each other)...) I came out to my dad twice, once in eight grade and once in my senior year. He blames my weight and says it's easier to get a girlfriend than a boyfriend which is total bullshit because it's just as hard, if not harder to get a girlfriend.
The reason I'm telling you about my problem (which you don't have to feel sorry for me because I really could careless about their views) is that I'm not sure how you can go about it. If they're supportive and they talk to you briefly about it and drop it, then it means their trying and it's only going to take time for them to grow completely comfortable. Patience is the best thing you can do for them. With my dad and step mom, I don't want to talk to them about it because I know their views, which is why they still question it because I don't talk to them about girls, but how can I when they obviously aren't accepting and blame my weight for me having these "thoughts"? Regardless of all that, just patience is all I can tell you and if they bring it up be fluent with what you have to say and not in grave detail because they may not be ready for that.
My mom had a lot of trouble talking to me about it too. It's awkward for them I guess. But the important thing is that they support you :D They'll come around and get used to it soon enough and it'll be a party (or something)
I've only come out to a friend, mother and grandmother, so I don't have a lot of experience with the whole family, but I've been advised to not make a "big deal" over it. Like for those random aunts you only see once a year, it doesn't have to be necessarily the most humungous deal where you give a 10 minute speech. Sometimes when you play it cool and don't make a big deal, other people won't make a big deal. Ex #1: correct people when they imply that one day you'll have a husband Ex #2: Fangirl over the L word forever Ex #3: Fangirl over Tegan and Sara forever Ex #4: Ship all girls into lesbian friskies.
