So I'm trans. I just turned 17 and I was born a chick. I'm not happy at all being a chick so I'm trying to transition to a guy. I go by Logan to some of my friends and my girlfriend but my family won't even hear about my changes. When I came out to them They totally shunned me. I got kicked out the whole bit. I'm back in the house now but I don't know what to do. I dress like a guy and I'm dying to start binding and cut my hair but my mom won't let me. I just need some advice on what to do. How do I get my mom to accept me and just allow me to be happy? I'm so scared to talk to her about it because she acts so terribly whenever I bring it up. My girlfriend and friends are so accepting of me but it would just be so much easier if I had my own family on my side. Someone..anyone help. Any advice for me getting my family to accept me. I can't do this pretending to be someone else anymore.

So I'm not trans, but I have so much respect for the transgender community because I think it's a million times harder to be transgender than gay and being gay is already hard enough. It's great that you have friends and a girl friend that supports you and you only have 1 more year until you can legally make decisions without your parents. If you want to dress like a guy, start binding and cut your hair I think you should absolutely do this, granted you'll still have a house to go home to. I know a lot of parents who originally reject their gay children eventually come around to accepting them, and I'm sure it's not much different for parents of trans kids. My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus).
