So, ive been gay for awhile, but i really want to start getting involved with being gay, start living it instead of just saying it ya know? But i need to do so without drawing attention to myself at home. Because im in a group home and they arent exactly the most open minded. I had a clothing voucher and wanted to use it on some cute outfits, cuz yea, im a femboy, and i mean, i was scared to say something about wanting to get female clothes, so we are just waiting till school starts again to use the voucher, and i mean, i just want some support and knowledge that im not the only gay the world, i know im not, but it feels like it sometimes, i want more gay friends around where i live, cuz i have none, and yea, just everything
What are you trying to say?
That you want to be more of the real you or you want to experience more of a cliche gay lifestyle?
I'm in a foster home and I've been in a group home before so I completely understand what you mean by having to be a certain way. Unless the group home adults are supportive and care about the kids will determine if you can be more of yourself. If they are the type to clock in and clock out and have a habit of turning there heads away when drama starts then DON'T bother expressing yourself there because that is only welcoming a big fat target on your forehead.
What you can do though, depending if the facility lets you wash your own clothes or if its assigned as a job is you can wear undergarments that express who you are without disputing the sensitive balance of the home.
As far as gay friends go, all my friends are straight and I haven't come out yet so good luck with that! X)
