I am still struggling with the gastritis 17 months on!! I am much better than I was and still on the Nexium...able to eat most foods now but not quite cured.. still getting that annoying ache above my belly button..waiting for other tests at the moment!!.I noticed you had been prescribed Augmentin...the antibiotic well the other name for this is Amoxicillin which is exactly what caused my gastritis in the beginning!! I had to take it two different times. wrecked my stomach. Don't worry though you will get through this....did you get on with the PPI's? ....I found nexium has helped the most. Have Faith everyone...you will beat this :)

Hey I took amoxicillin but didn’t really take it to long. It ,y doctor prescribed it to me after I was already diagnosed with gastritis. It was to slow down or stop my bleeding I was getting. I didn’t know if it was due to a sinus infection or the GERD that was causing it. But it slowed it down some and came right back after so I guess it didn’t really help to much. But if you know anything other than Omeprazole because that’s also what I take and gives bad side effects and makes me feel worst. Now I’m just taking nothing and winging it and try t9 watch what I eat and go for slight walks after each meal

Boobear, I'm so sorry to hear you are still dealing with this nasty thing!! The dr in hospital said they always start patients on pepcid 20mg 2x per day when they begin an antibiotic, I will do this next time! Wish I would have known :( The PPI's caused too many side effects, we are going with Pepcid 20mg right now twice per day. My anxiety is awful and causing some depression, I have to get a handle on this! Thanks for responding, I have been thinking about you a lot!

I have been struggling and declining over the last 2 yrs and finally couldnt work anymore. I was juat diagnosed with gastritis. I alao have chirrisis "non alcohol related". Does anyone else find that the pain etc. Is so much u are unable to work?

I had to take a month leave from my job last year due to gastritis, it was awful. I'm sorry you are enduring this.

Yes many people over the years have tried Zinc carnosine and it has worked for many. This can take years to clear up and you have to stick to all the rules and manage your mental health as well but it can be done. Check shihonage post on this page. He is a pro on this issue. Very good advice there.

Gastritis can make you feel like you cant function. That is not uncommon. Dont give up. Keep working at it and check shihonage post on this page. He is a pro on healing this issue.

Your welcome! Just stay the course. This is a practice in patience thing! It is a 3 steps forward 1 step back for a while. Gastritis wants to come back as well. Takes the stomach a long time to heal I think. There is a lot of success with this issue though. Stay disciplined! Stick to the GERD rules. You can message shihonage. he has helped a lot of people if you have anymore questions after checking his site. He is big on Pepzin GI and taking Zantac instead of a PPI

Yes, ditching the PPI, caused more side effects :( shocker

I tried zinc carnosine. It works but you have to be careful not to use for too long. I found 2 pills a day to see the effects but again after 3-4 months I got scared I overdosed on zinc and stop it for good. I wouldn't use for more that 2 months.
