Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.
I'm a lot better and can eat a lot of stuff. For example I can eat corndogs with no repercussions. However, some stuff is permanently off the menu because it's very damaging.
The reason I've been having this since December 2012, is because first of all, not knowing bout PepZin GI and mastic gum early enough, taking meds by stupid advice without learning how they work exactly, and later on, setting myself back each time I felt improved.
I believe YOU are at earlier stages of this, and it may be possible for you to reverse course more effectively yet. If you stop being careless.
My gastritis is for life unless I have surgery. Mine's caused by bile reflux so PPI's and Carafate do not help and do not heal. A valve isn't working right and bile flows back into the stomach and corrodes it.
I've had it since 2009.
