@boobear I am 46. My periods are bad and now combined with these flares. Really concerned about the night sweats as they can mean cancer sometimes? So scared that they missed something on my ultrasound, bloodwork and CT. I have lost 12 lbs and can't sleep so I'm exhausted and feeling frail. Menopause generally causes weight GAIN so that's why I'm so freaked out about the night sweats. I have pain like a rock in my stomach. It radiates to the back. Often I am nauseous and can't eat. But then I had a week stretch where I was almost back to normal. Went off the meds and probably shouldn't have. ANYBODY ELSE GET SOAKING NIGHT SWEATS NIGHTLY WITH "GASTRITIS"? (I put mine in quotes as I haven't officially had the gastroscopy yet. Thanks for answering.

Yes I definitely had more night sweats since this happened, I am still getting a LOT at the moment and really thing they are related.I lost over 2 stone with the gastritis through feeling either too sick to eat or too scared to eat anything with any substance...stayed off any fatty foods until I started to feel more confident and not so scared of eating. The pain at first was a burning/ache and it always went through to my back, I have read stomach pain often radiates to the back. How long have you been on the meds for? Don't worry you will get better, it's just annoying that it takes soooo long. Wishing you good luck with the endo tomorrow :) let us know how you get on. Prayers to all :)

P.S... forgot to say..my last endo still showed the gastritis back in Sep 2017. But since then I have been on nexium one a day 20mg...so really hoping it's gone!! good luck again :)

Hi 24 carrot mom. No night sweats but it seems stomach stuff can cause all kinds of symptoms. Anxiety too could cause this I would think. I seem to have mostly queasy stomach now and refluxy feeling and it gets worse at work probably stress. Take care

Somebody I read hear said that you can have symptoms even if gastritis is healed. Stress/anxiety can create them. He found that out.

I know mine is not going to be stress. I haven't had an endo in a year. I will hold it until december if I'm not healed as the doctor said he has seeing gastritis last up to 2 years. Endos are too expensive to have often, they are charged like a surgery.

I would definitely check on the night sweats. If its menopause then your obgyn can tell you. I would not bypass that symptom for sure.

Boo bear, I do think that changing hormones can be a big factor with gastritis. I am 57 and have been struggling with chronic gastritis for about 5 years. Up until then I never had any problems with stomach issues....didn’t even have heartburn during pregnancy. It seems like such a coincidence that when I started with menopause symptoms my gastritis issues started, periodically at first but now constant. Two years ago an EGD showed chronic gastritis and last month a second EGD now shows mild gastritis but with areas of erosion in my stomach. I’ve been saying to my doctors that I believe it’s hormonal but I think many doctors don’t agree with this. My GI specialist does not seem too concerned with the erosions but I am freaking out! I also had a Bravo test done which was negative for reflux. So now he has me weaning off the Protonix, taking sulcrafate and prescribed nortriptyline 10mg at bedtime.....for my anxiety, I guess. I’m at my wits end with this!

I’m new to diverticulitis . I feel the same way.
