Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.

Apart from traditional western medicine, functional medicine, what else can cure/treat chronic gastritis? How many kinds of medicine around the world can cure or treat this condition? Holisitic? Which if at all would be most effective to deal with chronic gastritis?  can someone please tell me how many kinds of medicine there are to try to cure this dreaded disease???  rsvp.  thank you.

I live in Canada and have been dealing with chronic non-erosive gastritis for the past 18 months. My GP and Gastroenterologist have both prescribed Pantoprezole (Protonix) which I have been taking for the past nine months. I have been on a continuous bland diet for two and a half months now. I mentioned my country of residence because marijuana is now legal here and I have been using medical grade marijuana for back pain (instead of opioids). During a particularly grueling gastritis attack, I tried "vaping" (using a vaporizer) some and was delighted when it instantly stopped the pain and nausea. Instant relief means relief in less than 60 seconds. Now I know why it is used with chemotherapy.

If you live in an area where you can access marijuana for medical reasons, I urge you to investigate. I can't express how much relief I have obtained using it. It's NOT addictive and works beautifully to relieve pain and nausea associated with gastritis. The only drawback with using cannabis is the "high". It must be used at home and you can't drive or do anything that requires clear thinking. Also, you may laugh or giggle a lot and that's much better than writhing in pain wanting to throw up your breakfast.
