Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.

I'm on the same regime as you minus the PPI or mylanta. I also take a tonic from my naturopath that is tweaked every visit. I have acupuncture once a week as well. I was on PPI for a month about four months ago but happily gave them away on the specialists advice. They can help with some symptoms but they also lower stomach acid which is worse for us.
If not for the natural goodies I'd be as bad as I was 6 months ago.
take care,
Cas

as you can see I was excited on there it was helping my symptoms, but guess what... when in for endoscopy GASTRITIS was still there so I do believe they are nice for symptoms and that alone. I'm back on my PPI, and just simple prilosec 2 X a day I use that instead of paying for nexium.
I saw my doctor today and my ultra sound and blood tests showed no abnormalities. My doctor and naturopath both feel my bad week with reduced appetite and food would be responsible for the weight loss. I've gained some of it back. Will think about protein supp. now for a boost.
I'll keep you posted.
Check out Boost Breeze. It has to be ordered online- but if you are having any resistance to lactose, I found it sits better with my stomach than some of the other options on the market. The protein is good in it as is the calorie count, plus no fat. Just a thought.
Blessings to all of you and may we all be in better health soon. In the mean time...one day at a time.
She and the doctor both agreed that I can eat fat and should not go for low fat options in my diet. When I try milk again in a few days it will be full fat. Something I haven't drunk in over 20 years.
Will let you know if I react with the supplement. (fingers crossed people)
