Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.

Does anyone get this tightness in throat with your gastritis? I have no acid reflux or food coming back up so not really sure what's causing this.
And also, when you press on your stomach does it feel tender?

I choke a little, but this could be my MS. Also, I have thyroid disease. You might want to eliminate thyroid before you get any worse.

Are these new symptoms for you? If yes, definitely talk to your Doctor.

I don't get anything in my throat, but perhaps throat sensations could indicate something to do with oesophagus or LES?

Sometimes my stomach/duodenum is tender to the touch, but not always.

Oh & there is LPR (silent) reflux to consider which has no outward symptoms.

I agree, you could have atypical reflux. You often dont know you are having it

@littlemart: Thanks, but I had a health screening done a mth ago, thyroid levels are normal. It's probably not that.

With silent reflux there'd still be symptoms like coughing, throat cleanng and difficulty swallowing which I don't have.
It's weird that the feeling of tightness is there but I'm not choking or feel choked or anything like that. I'm still waiting to see a GI in 3 weeks time. Gosh, it's such a long wait!

Maybe esophageal spasms?
