Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.

I found this advice on a Polish gastritis article, and never heard of it before. Who knows, worth a try!
Re: smoothies, my favorite is coconut milk, a couple tbls of the filling mix from Jello no bake cheesecake mix, 2 scoops of unflavored protein powder and 2 frozen strawberries. Strawberry cheesecake smoothie :)
