Gastritis Support Group
Gastritis is a medical term for inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It means that white blood cells move into the wall of the stomach as a response to some type of injury. Gastritis has many underlying causes, from infection with the bacterium H. pylori, bile reflux, or excessive consumption of alcohol or certain foods or drugs like aspirin.

I miss my tomato and all its glory and hope to get it again one day. i'm not Italian but pasta was my biggie. I still eat it I just alter the sauces. I can now make cream sauces which is great.
Let us know how it goes and any suggestions you may have. I'm all ears for new food ideas.

pH 7 is neutral, below pH 7 is acid & above pH 7 is alkali.
For example I know it's common on these sort of lists to find lemons listed as a highly alkaline forming food. OK maybe that's true after the miracle of digestion etc, but in reality the pH of the lemon that you consume & put into your tummy is acidic & about pH 2. Ouch for gastritis!
I found this list of food pH's the other day...

I have so many foods I want to try it takes so long in between good days and flare ups doesn't it?
It's amazing how we're all slightly different in the foods we can tolerate at different times. Pineapple & kiwi is currently awful for me & I'd put it down to their natural digestive enzymes, probably their natural proteases irritating the erosions in my duodenum. I think there was a thread recently on Digestive Enzymes.
When I flare up really bad I live on sweet potatoes, cottage cheese & bananas!
Had a good few days over Christmas though - even managed a piece of cheesecake - with the biscuit base too!
